Construction Activity for the week of September 15, 2014

Here are the planned construction activities for the week of September 15, 2014.

The 3rd floor and roof deck of the Nursing, Science and Education building have been poured and are curing. Offices and classrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are being framed, fitted with utilities and door frames are being installed. The first floor framing is almost complete. The curved stairs for the rotunda will arrive and be installed. The non-block portion of the building will have a new look toward the later part of the week yellow! But fear not, it will not stay this color. This is just the insulation backing for the metal panels and other finishes.

The slab for the Student Center is scheduled to be poured at the end of the week. The block work around the central plant will rise to about 26 feet. The structural steel will arrive the following week and this building will go up in a hurry.

There will not be much work occurring outside of the buildings. We will be wrapping up the planters in front of the Student Center. We will also be painting the rails on the stairs northeast of LAS. Please keep up your excellent safety habits, slowing in the construction areas and being mindful of workers outside of the construction fence.
