Guaranteed Deadline to Apply for Scorpion Academic Scholarships: January 15, 2017
Priority Deadline to Apply for Scorpion Academic Scholarships: April 15, 2017

Priority Deadline to Apply for Admission
Nevada State College accepts applications for the 2017 fall semester beginning September 1, 2016. Because our placement is limited and fills quickly, we strongly encourage students to apply well in advance of our April 15, 2017 Priority Application Deadline. (All dates listed are NOT postmark deadlines. An application, along with all supporting documents, must be received by Nevada State College by the dates listed below.)

  • At the time of admission, new students who have met the Guaranteed deadline will be evaluated for eligibility to be named as a Scorpion Academic Scholarship recipient. Students that apply before the Guaranteed deadline will be awarded a scholarship if they meet all of the scholarship requirements. If a student applies after the Guaranteed deadline, but before the Priority deadline, they will be awarded a scholarship based on available funding if they meet all of the requirements.
  • To meet the priority deadline for admission, a student must submit their application and $30 application fee by 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Saturday, April 15, 2017.
  • A student's complete application, which includes all of the supporting documents, must be received by Nevada State College no later than Monday, May 1, 2017.
  • Supporting documents include a complete and valid Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which must be submitted to the federal government with the results received by NSC, and official transcripts.
  • The Office of Admissions & Recruitment will begin the evaluation process for each individual applicant as soon as the complete application is received.
  • Those students submitting a complete application will have the best chance of enrolling in their first choice of courses and will receive a financial aid offer letter within a few weeks from the date of initial submission.
  • Admitted students who wish to attend Nevada State College must confirm their intent to enroll by June 16, 2017.

Missing the Priority Deadline to Apply for Admission

  • Applying after April 15, 2017, while permissible, may significantly lower a student's chances of receiving an ideal financial aid package, getting properly advised, and enrolling in one's preferred classes.
  • Students submitting applications after April 15, 2017, are less likely to be considered for scholarships and, depending on space availability, are less likely to enroll in their preferred classes.
  • Students who miss the priority application deadline will still be considered for the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Direct Stafford Loan and for dependent students, the Federal Direct PLUS Loan.
