Retiree Benefits

Retiree Medicare

PEBP requires new retirees who are Medicare eligible or have Medicare to stay in the pre-Medicare plan for at least two months prior to transferring to the Medicare Exchange.

The process for new retirees who are Medicare eligible is as follows:

  1. Complete a Retiree BECF choosing the pre-Medicare plan and send the form to PEBP.
  2. Complete the Years of Service form and send the form to PEBP.
  3. Mail copies of Medicare card(s) to PEBP showing both Medicare Part A and B.
  4. HR will provide the retiree with a blank Retiree BECF. The retiree is to use this form to choose whether they want the Medicare exchange with or without dental. The retiree must send the second BECF to PEBP prior to being enrolled in the exchange.

Information for Medicare retirees is available in the PEBP and Medicare guide on the PEBP website - http://www.pebp.state.nv.us/mpd/Age65_Medicare_Insert_5.827x8.268_Final.pdf
