HR Training Calendar

You may register for the following programs by calling HR at 992-2320 or emailing patti.needham@nsc.edu. Registered participants will receive an Outlook invitation to the training session as a confirmation. Additional courses are currently being developed, so be sure to check the HR website for current offerings.

Attendance Procedures

Attendance at HR-sponsored training programs is considered compensable time. This means that it is not necessary to use annual leave to attend the sessions. You need to follow your regular department procedures for requesting attendance at events. If you are a classified employee, be sure to talk with your supervisor prior to registering, and adjust your work schedules if necessary to ensure that you do not exceed 40 hours per work week. The Office of Human Resources does not monitor supervisory approval to attend courses. By registering for the course, you are indicating that you have received the proper approval to attend.

Certificate of Accomplishment Programs

Two Certificate of Accomplishment programs have been established for NSC faculty and staff.

Certificate of Accomplishment HR Liaison Program

HR Liaisons are the individuals in each office/department who have been given duties that need to be coordinated with and submitted to the Office of Human Resources. This includes contract processing, time and leave reporting, and payroll matters. HR Liaison meetings will be held on a bi-monthly basis in August, October, December, February, April and June. HR Liaisons who attend eight HR Liaison Meetings within a two-year period and successfully complete an online review of course content will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment. All HR Liaison meetings sponsored by HR count towards this certificate.

Certificate of Accomplishment NSC Supervisors Program

Supervisors who attend ten NSC Supervisors training courses within a three-year period and successfully complete an online review of course content will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment. Certain courses are required while others are supplemental. See below for eligible courses.
