Spring 2015 commencement ceremony, the Nevada State College Office of Alumni Relations hosted its 5th Annual Grad Days.

It's official! Federal government grants NSC's petition to name NSC's Mount Scorpion
April 30, 2012 was a big day in NSC history. Bart Patterson was approved as NSC's president, and NSC representatives informed the Board of Regents that they had claimed Mount Scorpion and intended to seek official, federal naming of the geologic feature. Soon after, President Patterson and NSSA Student Body President Deuvall Dorsey hiked to the top, metaphorically paving the way for NSC. It would be three years to the day until NSC received official notification that the US Board on Geographic Names unanimously approved the naming of Mount Scorpion.
New degree programs take off at NSC
The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) is very pleased to announce the addition of new degree programs at Nevada State College. Students are now able to earn bachelor's degrees in the areas of criminal justice and mathematics. Additionally, several other degree programs are currently in the works.

Associate Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dr. Gwen Sharp, says the addition of the criminal justice major had been a long time coming. Students had been asking about a criminal justice major for years, she said.

NSC hosts inaugural induction ceremony for psychology honor society, Psi Chi

On Thursday, April 23rd, NSC held its first induction ceremony for students admitted to the psychology honor society, Psi Chi. Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.

Nevada State College was officially accepted as a national chapter of the organization this year.
