I have been teaching at the School of Nursing since fall of 2006. I originally received my Associate Degree in Nursing at College of Southern Nevada in 1999, and finally received my BSN and MSN/Ed at University of Phoenix in June of 2006. I am currently at Touro University working on getting my DNP and plan to graduate in August 2014. I am also the faculty advisor for the Student Nurses Association. Outside of NSC, I am on the board for the Nevada Nurses Association as the Director at Large and Sigma Theta Tau's International Honor Society's Vice-President.
Before I came to NSC I was a nurse manager at a cancer clinic in Las Vegas. I have also worked at UMC med/surg/oncology unit and Sunrise Children's Hospital. Before nursing I use to work at the Stardust in the cashier cage and was a shoe designer in St. Louis, Missouri. I have a beautiful 24 year old daughter who is also in nursing school and hopes to be an oncology nurse when she graduates. I also have a wonderful supportive husband who I have been married for the past 7 years with many more wonderful years still to come.
During my down time, my husband and I go to Grateful Dead concerts or any similar sounding music to relax, as well as go to Zion for beautiful day hikes. He takes beautiful pictures of the areas we hike and I follow birds as I am an avid bird watcher.
