Nevada State College was established in 2002 as Nevada's first mid-tier, four-year public institution as part of the Nevada System of Higher Education. Through the contributions of thousands of faculty, staff, and students, we have built a State college known for providing quality, access, and affordability to students from all backgrounds. NSC is recognized as a Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) and an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).
NSC has graduated just over 2,000 students with bachelor degrees from the School of Education, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and School of Nursing. The knowledge, creativity and ingenuity of our graduates are playing a major role in moving Nevada forward by advancing those targeted sectors identified in the Governor's plan for Excellence in Economic Development.
The entire campus is overflowing with energy and excitement as we move closer to the construction of two new buildings on the main campus, including a Nursing and Education Building and a Student Center and Administration Building.
Visioning NSC 20/20 renews NSC's fundamental priorities with continued focus on increasing access to our College's exceptional intellectual resources; integrating knowledge across academic disciplines with emphasis on innovative understanding and discovery; and engaging locally, nationally, and globally to bring the benefits of NSC's research, teaching, and service to individuals and communities at home and around the world. This vision will guide us in strengthening four core values that make us uniquely NSC: quality, innovation, inclusion, and impact.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be part of the Scorpion nation. Be Bold. Be Great. Be State.
