New Student Orientation

The Orientation Program is mandatory for all new first-year students before registering for courses.

Congratulations on becoming a Scorpion! We are excited to have you join our family!

Attending college is a momentous occasion in a student's life. We recognize that this time can be fun and exciting but is also a bit scary. The New Student Orientation (NSO)  program is designed to assist students with the transition process from high school to college. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to meet new and current NSC students, meet faculty and staff, get to know the campus and academic programs, and get registered for classes!

With these goals in mind, we have planned comprehensive orientation programs that are unique to first-year or transfer students and the family and friends who support them.

Orientation is an all-day event. At the conclusion of the day you will receive your fall 2016 course schedule. Please keep in mind that you MUST have your placement scores in our system (SAT, ACT, Accuplacer) AND have completed the online pre-orientation to receive an invite. Once registration for the online pre-orientation opens up you will receive a detailed email explaining how to complete the pre-orientation. Once the online pre-orientation has been successfully completed AND your official test scores are on file,  you will receive an RSVP email to register for an on-campus orientation.

You MUST complete both the pre-orientation and on-campus orientation to receive a fall 2016 course schedule.  The RSVP email will only release two dates at a time. It is highly recommended that students come early in the summer to receive the ideal fall 2016 schedule.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Orientation Coordinator at 702-992-2134.
