Fast Track BS to PharmD Program
Fast Track BS/PharmD Program
Are you interested in pursuing a degree and career in pharmacy? Nevada State College (NSC) and Roseman University’s College of Pharmacy have partnered to offer NSC students the opportunity to accelerate their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree through the Fast Track BS/PharmD Program! This program is available to NSC students pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and effectively eliminates one year of study by allowing students to combine the fourth year of their BS and first year of Roseman’s PharmD program. After successful completion of their first year of study at Roseman, which is also their fourth year of study at NSC, students will be granted their BS in Biology and continue their PharmD education with Roseman University.
Benefits of the Fast Track Program
Save Time and Money. By having one year of overlap that counts toward both the BS in Biology and the PharmD, you will earn your degree sooner than usual and you will save a year’s worth of tuition as well.
Skip the Test. If accepted to Roseman’s PharmD program through the Fast Track BS/PharmD Program, PCAT scores will not be necessary.
Know That You Are In. Roseman University will grant you conditional acceptance into its PharmD program if you have successfully completed the pre-professional phase of the Fast Track BS/PharmD program (i.e., NSC curriculum) provided the following conditions have been met:
The satisfactory completion of the entire pre-professional curriculum with an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater on a scale of 0 to 4.
A letter of recommendation from an NSC School of Liberal Arts & Sciences faculty member.
The completion of the Roseman University College of Pharmacy program application and admission process, including qualification for an interview during the final year of study at NSC.
Years 1-3 (or semesters 1-6): Complete your BS in Biology requirements in as few as three (3) years, which includes the prerequisite courses for the PharmD program. Apply to Roseman University College of Pharmacy through PharmCAS and complete the admissions process.
Year 4 (or semesters 7-8): Attend Roseman University College of Pharmacy and take courses that count toward both your BS in Biology and your PharmD. At the end of year four (4), after successful completion of your pharmacy school courses, you will graduate from NSC with a BS in Biology.
Years 5-6: Complete remaining PharmD courses with Roseman University College of Pharmacy.
