Kevin Butler is the Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Operations at Nevada State College. In this role, Kevin is responsible for managing the college’s financial and physical resources and providing leadership in the areas of accounting services, financial aid and student accounts, budget and sponsored projects, contract management, human resources, marketing, communications and facilities management. A self-professed generalist, his career in higher education began 34 years ago in the University of Arizona motorpool. Since then, Kevin progressed through various accounting and management positions in facilities management, academic units and administration at Research I institutions, community colleges and state colleges. He has also worked abroad, successfully managing complex international development projects. Kevin left the University of Arizona after 20 years to become the first Assistant Dean for Business and Finance in the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he built an effective business operation and grant support structure and helped to financially turn around the college, doubling research spending while increasing enrollment during each of his four years there.
Kevin returned to his hometown and alma mater, Cochise College where, as Vice President for Administration, he helped to transform the college by developing new business strategies and guided the most comprehensive campus renewal program since the college’s inception. Kevin has been active in community work serving as treasurer for the Bisbee Council on Arts and Humanities, treasurer for the Sierra Vista Sunrise Rotary club and a member of the Greater Sierra Vista United Way. Kevin is still deeply involved in efforts to help restore the 109 year-old Warren Ballpark, serving as treasurer for the Friend of the Warren Ballpark.
In addition to his Associates of Arts degree from Cochise, Kevin earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration as well as and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Kevin holds a certificate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education Institute for Education Management and is a licensed CPA in the State of Arizona. Kevin is married to his wife, Sedra, and has two grown daughters, Seanza and Serena.
