Nevada State College is partnering with the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) to host this important diversity event on campus. For the first time in its history, the College will have the honor of hosting a sitting chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Education and Labor on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019.
In addition to providing a keynote focused on policies relevant to minority students, Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-3) will be discussing reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. Further, Congressman Scott will be joined at the event by Congresswoman Susie Lee who is also a member of the Committee on Education and Labor and representative for the district encompassing the College. Together, both will continue to have significant influence over higher education reform for millions of Americans, and by extension, Nevada State College.
This event is free of charge and open to faculty, staff, students and community members. Registration required.
