Hello! I am a Lecturer of Visual Media specializing in media postproduction and music. I attended Morehead State University where I did undergraduate studies in music and theatre. I also completed additional undergraduate coursework in fine arts education, anthropology and science. In preparation for my Master’s Program at the University of Chichester I attended Nevada State College as a student. My creative dissertation focuses on scoring for animation and the use of intertextual reference in media music. At NSC I teach courses in editing, visual effects, sound design, and film music.
My professional career has offered several diverse opportunities including positions with Jenny Wiley Theater, Blue Man Group: Live at the Venetian, and as a creative consultant to numerous scholastic music and fine arts programs across the nation. I successfully transitioned to the film and media industry and have worked both as an independent artist and as a sound and music supervisor for a global distribution company. Some of my favorite projects include pre-production work on Action Mice (2019), the family Christmas film Joy and Hope (2020), and the period drama Maysville (2021).
My personal research interests are intertextuality in the arts, assessment of creative works, and using game engines in the education setting. I have lived here in Henderson since 2005 and love the diversity, excitement, and opportunity here in the Las Vegas valley. My favorite pastime is board gaming and I have been a life long Star Wars fan.
