Rogelio “Chris” Petras (he/him) serves as the Interim Embedded Peer Services Program Coordinator at the Academic Success Center. Chris, an alum of Nevada State, worked as a peer mentor for the School of Education’s Title-V Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) grant – Cultivando Mentes (Cultivating Minds), a Course Assistant for Behavioral Statistics and Introductory Psychology, and an undergraduate researcher in two Psychology labs.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Addiction Treatment Counseling and Sociology from Nevada State College. His research interest broadly focuses on death, dying, culturally-responsive teaching practices, and higher education access for underrepresented populations.
During his off time, Chris enjoys video games, listening to 90s R&B Music, and religiously watching Bob’s Burgers.
