I am proud to serve as the Director of the Academic Success Center at Nevada State College. I attended the University of Utah where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Critical & Cultural Communication Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies. My undergraduate experience as a peer mentor uncovered my passion for working with college students; leading me to pursue a master’s in Higher Educational Leadership and Policy. I have worked in higher education for over 10 years and especially enjoy serving fellow first-generation and non-traditional students. My professional and scholarly interests focus on academic support, peer mentoring, student development, social justice and inclusion, learning theory, program design/implementation, and outcomes assessment. I am extremely passionate about mentoring and training NSC students about these topics. When I’m not working I enjoy playing and coaching basketball, watching movies, traveling, and trying new restaurants around the city.
