My experience working in higher education began while pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and minor in music, at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB). While at CSUMB, I worked as a resident advisor for three years and gained additional residential life leadership experience working in the main office on campus. After graduating in May 2014, I earned my Masters of Science in College Student Personnel at Western Illinois University (WIU) in May 2016. As a graduate student career advisor while studying at WIU, I helped students from all majors succeed in interviewing and obtaining internships and jobs. I conducted an internship to advise incoming first-year undeclared majors during summer orientation, as well as, spent time in the Bachelor of General Studies office assisting non-traditional students pursuing their degree, and recruited students from local community colleges to this program. I later served as a career advisor for business students at Washington State University.
I moved to Henderson and began working in the Academic Advising Center in September 2017. I am excited to use my undergraduate experience in liberal studies to connect with the pre-education and pre-speech pathology students who are pursuing a career as educators for the local youth in the Clark County School District! I am grateful to work with the unique, growing, and innovative students, faculty, and staff of Nevada State College. I love the area living closer to my home and family in Southern California.
