Elizabeth Gunn, Ph.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Gunn has served as Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business since January 2021. Prior to arriving at Nevada State, she held administrative and faculty positions at Rutgers University and Morgan State University. At the latter, she earned the institution’s highest honor, the Sandye McIntyre II International Award for creating and sustaining international programs at home and abroad. As a first-generation college student, she has lived the transformative power of higher education. With more than two decades of experience centered on empowering women and underrepresented students, her leadership promise is to amplify Nevada State’s social justice mission for students, faculty, staff, and the community. She holds a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and three master’s degrees: an MA in Spanish from Middlebury College, an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Baltimore, and an MBA in Management from Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School. An avid runner and hiker, Dr. Gunn lives in Henderson with her wife and three lively rescue pups.
