My name is Samuel Goodrich and I’m one of the Senior Advisors at Nevada State, where I advise students whose majors are in the STEM field or pre-nursing. I also teach one the College and Career Success courses offered at Nevada State. My pronouns are he/him/his/Sam
I started off as a student here, where I earned my degree in biology and chemistry before moving on to get my masters degree in education.
I started working at Nevada State in the Academic Success Center as a science tutor in 2012 before moving on to Advising. Besides being a student worker, I was able to perform undergraduate research and be a part of the INBRE program. I was even able to get a paper published in the Journal of Chemical Education based on my work.
After graduation I moved into Advising so I could continue to help our students be successful by utilizing an Advising as Teaching approach. One of my favorite quotes is, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” -Benjamin Franklin
My passion is helping students learn and be successful. I’m excited to get to know you more and look forward to helping you along your education journey!
