Diplomas

Diplomas are ordered once all semester grades have been posted, remaining transcripts have been submitted and entered, and degrees have been posted to the student account. This process typically takes about 4 weeks after the semester ends. Diplomas will be mailed to graduates from the vendor approximately 12 weeks after they are ordered. Students should ensure that their address is accurate with the Office of the Registrar, as diplomas are mailed to the current address on record. Students with outstanding financial obligations will not receive their diploma until all such obligations have been met. The deadline to update your name and address is the last day of your final semester. So if your last semester is the Spring 2021 semester that deadline would be May 8, 2021. Please note that we do not automatically send transcripts to outside agencies, such as licensing boards; a transcript request must be submitted along with the appropriate fees.

Honors and degree types are printed on diplomas. Only students with an Interdisciplinary Studies major will have their minor printed on their diplomas.

Please visit this link for more information and contact the Office of the Registrar with additional questions at registrar@nsc.edu or 702-992-2110.

Honor Cords

All students will receive their honor cords prior to the commencement ceremony. We will be mailing the estimated honor cord to all students by the end of March. If you graduate with a higher honor than estimated, you can then bring the cord and exchange it for the correct one once you have completed your final semester. Students who are completing their degree in Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 should have already received a letter with your estimated honors.

Additional Steps

Gratitude Gram

You worked really hard to get to this point and we hope that you take the time to think about the journey and the people who helped you along the way. Each year we ask grads to come up with three people to thank. This could be a family member, friend, mentor or NS Staff/Professor.

We created a special portal for you to leave a NS Department, Staff Member, or Professor a written or video message. These messages will be given to the members of the NS Community in a special way. Messages will only be shared with the individual(s) that you authorize to receive your message
