Henderson, Nev. – Nevada State College will host its pinning ceremony. Pinning ceremonies are a tradition in the nursing field. Students will be pinned by a family member, friend or faculty member, and the pins students will receive were designed by a former NSC graduate.
The college’s nursing program was established to help combat Nevada’s nursing shortage and has played a major role in graduating nurses into the Southern Nevada community since its inception. The accelerated track nursing program is a one-year program and runs from August to August. The program is designed for individuals interested in becoming nurses who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in another field.
Thirty-four nursing students from Nevada State College’s accelerated baccalaureate nursing program will be honored at the college’s pinning ceremony.
The event will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 22nd at the Dragon Ridge Country Club in Henderson.
