Beginning in fall 2007, Myron J. Burns will serve Nevada State College as Assistant Professor of Psychology.
For the past four years, Burns served as a Project Director and a Research Assistant Professor with the University of Miami, Center for Family Studies. While there he spent a majority of his time coordinating two clinical trial studies pertaining to adherence in HIV+ women recovering from substance abuse and the side effects it has on family members.
Burns has six years of counseling and psychological assessment experience with the adults and child population, as well as six years of experience supervising undergraduate, master, and doctoral students. He has worked with people from different races, cultures, economic backgrounds, and worldviews.
