Sam McCool Wins the Blackboard Community Collaboration Award

Henderson August 27th, 2009 Nevada State College’s Sam McCool was named a winner of the Blackboard Community Collaboration Award, which recognizes innovative leaders in the Blackboard user community who share advice, insight, and effective practices with others as they approach key challenges and opportunities in e-learning.
In its history, Blackboard has recognized individuals who have made outstanding contributions within the client community by having consistent involvement in community programs, activities, and initiatives. This year, the award honors practitioners who use innovative ways to engage other community members and create and share compelling content with others throughout the entire Blackboard community.
Mr. McCool, NSC’s Instructional Technology Manager, was honored alongside the other Community Collaboration Award winners during BbWorld® 09, the annual Blackboard users conference to be held in July in Washington, D.C. The 2009 winners were particularly recognized for their significant contributions to the Blackboard Connections user community site. http://connections.blackboard.com/pages/home.
This award is important recognition of Nevada State’s efforts to collaborate with other professionals across the country and locally to advance our deployment of instructional technology and enhance the learning experience at NSC and also brings attention to our leadership in instruction and technology, said McCool.
The Community Collaboration Awards are part of the Blackboard Catalyst Awards, which annually recognize and honor innovation and excellence in the Blackboard global community of practice, where instructors and learners work every day to redefine what is possible in e-learning.
