Comprised of education leaders and decisions makers in Nevada, the Nevada State College School of Education formed an advisory council of 14 founding members during the fall semester.
Scheduled to meet twice each year, the group will work closely with the dean and faculty members of the School of Education in order to brainstorm and implement both internal and external strategies that will strengthen the school’seducation, enhance the marketability of alumni within the state, and identify opportunities for growth.
We have asked this outside group to get behind the School of Education to help promote our goals within the community, while also providing us with valuable feedback on the effectiveness of our programs, said School of Education interim Dean Elizabeth Hawthorne. We are really appreciative of the willingness of all individuals asked to join the council.

“We look forward to the advisory council participating in NSC’s continued growth, added Hawthorne. As a relatively young institution, we are still becoming who we are with the support of our community and that’s exciting.
