Virtual Career, Internship, & Grad School Fair

SAVE THE DATE for Nevada State’s 2021 Virtual Career, Internship, and Graduate School Fair! This virtual fair, hosted by the Career Services Center, will take place via Zoom.  Over 40+ registered employers and graduate schools will be in attendance to recruit NS students and alumni for full-time and part-time job and internship opportunities, as well as graduate school programs. Starting March 1, NS students and alumni MUST pre-register to attend this event – see registration information below. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration closes on Sunday, March 21 at 11:59pm.  This event will be over a 2-day period on the days listed below. Students/alumni are encouraged to attend both days of the Fair if interested! Each day has it’s own registration link, so attendees interested in both days will need to register twice.

DAY 1: Tuesday, March 23 from 9am-5pm PST (Group Session Day)

Registration closes Sunday, March 21 at 11:59pm.

This day is for 30-minute small group sessions only.  NS students and alumni will be able to register for multiple small group sessions led by employer or graduate school representatives.  These representatives will conduct an informational presentation on their organization, their job/internship openings and/or grad school program, and what they look for in qualified applicants.  Representatives will also answer any questions from attendees.  Attendees MUST pre-register to attend this virtual event.  Registration opens March 1 on this webpage; registration will close on Sunday, March 21 at 11:59pm.  Read this Attendee Career Fair FAQ to learn how to prepare and what to expect on event day.

 

DAY 2: Thursday, March 25 from 9am-5pm PST (1-on-1 Individual Consultation Day)

Registration closes Sunday, March 21 at 11:59pm.

This day is for 15-minute individual consultations only. NS students and alumni will be able to register for multiple individual consultations (while slots last; registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis) to meet with employers who are recruiting for job and/or internship opportunities, or with graduate school representatives.  Meeting 1-on-1 with an employer is a great way to make professional connections, gain a better understanding of the organization, and receive career advice from professionals! Who should attend the Virtual Career, Internship, and Graduate School Fair?

EVERYONE is encouraged to attend and participate! All majors and all class levels (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, alumni) are welcome to attend.  UNLV, UNR, and CSN students and alumni are also welcome to attend this virtual career fair.

  • Looking for a job/internship? You should attend! Students that have attended our past career fairs have been offered job interviews and/or found their job/internship by attending our fair!
  • Not looking for a job/internship? You should still attend! This event is a great way for you to network with professionals (networking is the #1 most successful job search strategy), practice your communication skills, and gain insight from them on how to professionally prepare for your career goals in the future. Plus, it will help you explore and learn about opportunities of interest for the future.
  • Interested in attending graduate/professional school? You should attend! Several local graduate/professional schools will be in attendance to answer any questions you have.
  • UNLV/UNR/CSN students and alumni are also welcome to attend this virtual career fair. UNLV/UNR/CSN registration opens Monday, March 8 on this webpage.

NS student and alumni registration for the virtual fair will open on Monday, March 1, 2021; registration will close on Sunday, March 21 at 11:59pm.  Please re-visit this website for information on how to register on or after March 1.  Student/alumni registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis for individual consultations and some group sessions.  Read this Attendee Career Fair FAQ to learn how to prepare and what to expect on event day.

Career Fair Prep Drop-In Hours: March 17 and March 18

Do you have questions you want answered prior to the event? Pop into the Career Fair Prep Drop-In Hours on Wednesday, March 17 between 9am-12noon or Thursday, March 18 from 2pm-5pm.  Attending these drop-in hours is OPTIONAL.  Drop-in times are limited to 15 minutes and operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Use the meeting link below for the Career Fair Prep Drop-In Hours.  You will initially enter a waiting room prior to being admitted. While in the waiting room, you will receive a message to complete an online check-in survey to verify that you’re an NSHE student/alumni.  You must complete the online survey to be admitted to the meeting.  If several individuals are already in the meeting, you may have to wait 5-10 minutes.
