Secondary Education – Physical Sciences (BS in Education)

Share Your Passion For Science

There are few occupations more important than educating today’s youth. As a teacher in middle school or high school, you will have the opportunity to contribute to society by shaping adolescent minds. The BS in Education, Secondary Education with a Concentration in Physical Science, prepares you to work with children from seventh through twelfth grade in public, private, and alternative school systems. As a Physical Science teacher, you will have a direct impact on developing your students’ physical science comprehension. If you feel the calling to work with children and/or adolescents and want to strengthen the community and society through education, consider becoming a secondary education teacher.

It takes a dedicated individual to be a secondary teacher as the job is certainly not an easy one. As a teacher, your students will look to you for education, guidance and support. Education majors in the Nevada State University Teacher Preparation Program must participate in a planned series of field experiences with an emphasis on physical science, as an integral part of their training. Participating in these experiences, you will gain hands on knowledge and best practices in physical science and how to apply those concepts in your classroom. Here, we provide a supportive, inclusive and hands-on learning experience so that you can BE CONFIDENT when leading your classrooms.
