Join us as we officially welcome Nevada State College’s eighth president, DeRionne Pollard, Ph.D.! All events will employ COVID-19 safety measures, including indoor mask requirements, livestream options and outdoor food service only, when offered.

We invite our campus community, members of the public and the press to attend in person or via livestream as we install the eighth president of Nevada State College, DeRionne Pollard, Ph.D. She will also speak about the common themes that inform her leadership and vision for the institution’s future in her first State of the College address. A brief, private media meet and greet will immediately follow the address.

Faculty Symposium for Teaching and Learning

Calling all full- and part-time instructors! The 3rd Annual Faculty Symposium for Teaching and Learning hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence is an opportunity for you to share your teaching strategies, innovative ideas, and fresh approaches to teaching with your colleagues.

During this two-day professional development event, our keynote speaker, Jose Bowen, Ph.D., will present “Lessons Learned: Building Back Better” based on collective findings from being forced to transition our teaching online due to COVID, and discuss how we can utilize best practices moving forward. In addition to the keynote, the symposium will feature breakout sessions with 20 presentations by individual faculty, co-presenters, and faculty learning communities.

Hey, Scorpion alumni! Bring along a guest to meet our new president, DeRionne Pollard, in this fun and casual off-campus setting. She is excited to treat you to tacos and get to know you and where you are now. She will also share a short presentation about her five leadership pillars and plans to restructure how alumni fit in and have an important voice in the evolving vision for the college that will benefit future graduates and our state. Event is limited to 100 people on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to register right away!
